Operator panels – Whatever you need The handling of machines is one of the most critical aspects a
manufacturer has to take care of. It defines the acceptance by the
operator and also the productivity, both the important factors to judge
a machine. So supplying the right human/machine interface is crucial to
the success of a machine.
Besides the pure functionality also the
aspect of esthetics is getting more and more important. Decision makers
tend to choose ‘good looking’ machines over machines equipped with
standard operating interfaces. This fact should not be underestimated.
Try to separate your products from those of your competitors- give them a personal face.
Two examples of how this was achieved by two of our customers:

Example One (used in a high-speed automatic cut-off saw in rough environment)
shows
a ¼ VGA monochrome display, with integrated keyboard and additional
hardwired buttons and signal lamps. The communication to the other
control units is via CAN bus. Local I/Os are possible , also the unit
can act as master control unit where CoDeSys is performing the control
functionality. | | |

Example Two (used in textile printing machine with harsh chemicals)
shows
how design can separate your products from the competitor. These three
panels are used on one machine where different functionality is needed
at different places. The big ‘discs’ come with and without display, the
small 5-button panel can be hooked up to one of the big discs. Also
here communication with the other intelligent control units is done via
CAN bus. |
