Customized Control Solutions It is convenient to use ‘standard’ modules to build up a control
system. But sometimes it makes more sense to adapt existing solutions
to what is exactly required in a specific application. This reduces
overhead – why having something that is not needed – and packages all
what is needed in a single unit- right at the point where the
functionality is needed. Especially when machines are built in modules
this gives you the freedom to pre-produce the modules, test them with
all functions and just assemble the final layout with all the necessary
modules. Faster installation is guaranteed by this scheme.
Example (drive control in textile printing press)
One
example of tailoring a control unit is shown in this picture. The unit
can control two dc-motors and has local I/Os and two communication
busses (CAN).
